How do people engage with alternative news media, and what does this mean for trust in science and its communicators? This interactive workshop explores how scientific topics are framed in both mainstream and alternative media and invites participants to collectively assess the consequences for public trust and engagement. Drawing on previous research into alternative media clusters, the objective is to analyze contrasting representations of the same scientific issue, reflect on audience responses, and co-develop strategies to reach disengaged or polarized publics. The session is designed as a deliberation lab where participants’ inputs become part of a broader research endeavor. Join us to decode narratives, compare framings, and explore how to build bridges across information divides
