How should society deal with AI? A simulation game to bring science into the debate

Science communication increasingly involves discussing scientific expertise that can provide useful insights into societal issues and formulate concrete proposals. However, translating knowledge into policy is a complex task, which in particular requires including various voices in the process and acknowledging sometimes diverging interests. Taking the concrete case of AI, our workshop will allow participants to experience first-hand the process of science advising to politics. Taking different roles and working in teams, they will explore how society can analyze the new emerging opportunities, risks and challenges brought by AI. They will determine how to gather and incorporate scientific evidence into various policy options.
